We believe the Station at Irlam was and is the heart of the community providing both a key transport link for work and pleasure, whilst also providing a destination in it's own right including the Station Bar and Cafe and a collection of areas and items to celebrate railways in our community.
The vision, led by Neil McArthur and the Hamilton Davies Trust, is to invest in the Station complex to build this amenity so that both the local community and like minded people from further afield, view it as a real destination to visit and enjoy. It is especially important that the area adds real value to lives today as well as celebrating the history of railways which have been so important to this area.
Phase One - This involved the development of the Station into both a quality bar and cafe and a living museum that celebrates the railways.
Phase Two - Was the opening of the Station Park.
Phase Three and Four - are planned and will be advised in due course.
Station Park opened on the 22 March 2019. The idea was to develop an enchanting, quirky park at the entrance of Irlam Station by converting a derelict embankment area. Our thanks to the Peel Group and Peel Ports for gifting the land and to the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Warren Smith, and Salford City Mayor, Paul Dennett for opening it.
